Often overlooked, Metro has an extremely important role in collecting, collating, and interpreting data on populations, economies, transportation needs, waste generation, cultural preferences, and housing needs. These data provide a resource and common basis for planning for all regional jurisdictions, including those in Clark County. Metro also maintains a comprehensive natural resource database that all jurisdictions can draw upon. My experience in developing environmental data systems will ensure that I will provide critical attention to this important regional resource.
